The objective of this study is to propose a theoretical foundation for addressing the integration of artificial intelligence into a healthcare system in crisis—characterised by staff shortages, population ageing, medical errors, and inequalities in access to care. The research methodology is based on a qualitative documentary analysis, drawing on scientific sources (medical, technical, etc.) and institutional reports (WHO, INSERM, INSEE), as well as real-world examples of artificial intelligence applications in healthcare systems, primarily in France and Europe. The scientific novelty lies in a cross-disciplinary approach, which combines a critical review of existing literature with a contextual analysis of concrete AI applications in the French healthcare context. Conclusion. Artificial intelligence is profoundly transforming modern medicine by providing innovative technological solutions. However, its use remains challenged by numerous legal, ethical, and social issues, thus requiring clear governance, appropriate regulation, and enhanced training for healthcare professionals.
